At the Faculty of Physics of the University of Vienna the following position is to be filled.
The University of Vienna plans to strengthen its activities in the field of nano structure research. One of the key competences of the University of Vienna in this field is to bridge the gap between fundamental research on novel material systems and their application in laser science and gas-phase spectroscopy. To further promote this research field, we are looking for candidates with an excellent record in the area of crystalline mirror technology and nonlinear optics for high-precision mid-IR molecular spectroscopy. The candidate should have hands-on experience in the development of solid-state and fiber laser systems with a focus on frequency comb generation, novel methods of frequency comb spectroscopy, in depth knowledge on design and characterization of crystalline mirrors and their application for cavity enhanced spectroscopy. The candidate is expected to have experience in establishing an independent academic research group.
