The position of a Senior Scientist (40 hours/ week) is currently open at the Faculty of Psychology starting with October 1st, 2017 (initially limited to 5 years, with the option of a permanent contract upon positive evaluation). The main area of responsibility for this position will be the new Outpatient Department for Research, Teaching and Practice, which will provide services for childhood, adolescence and adulthood. The holder of the position will be responsible for the development and management of the Outpatient Department and its clinical psychological, health psychological and psychotherapeutic fields of activity (in accordance with current laws and legal regulations). Successful applicants possess, in addition to profound, subject-relevant competencies, competencies in research and management.

Your area of responsibility includes: (1) development of the Outpatient Department for Research, Teaching and Practice, including annual budget planning; (2) organization and leadership of the operative functions of the Outpatient Department; (3) self-responsible activities according to the Psychologists’ Act and Psychotherapy Law in accordance with current legal regulations; (4) planning and conducting empirical research at the Outpatient Department as well as at the Faculty of Psychology in general; (5) acquisition of third-party funds; (6) active participation in the shaping of subject-relevant teaching and further education programs.
Doctoral degree in Psychology with a focus on Clinical Psychology and/or Health Psychology or Psychotherapy; postgraduate training in Clinical Psychology and/or Health Psychology according to current legal requirements or according to corresponding EEA regulations with a focus on evidence-based therapy methods; practical experience in Clinical Psychology and/or Health Psychology or Psychotherapy; competencies for the development and management of an Outpatient Department for Research, Teaching and Practice; proof of empirical research activities and an independent research profile in Clinical Psychology and/or Health Psychology or Psychotherapy, with a high compatibility to the Faculty’s thematic areas of research and special research foci; particularly the ability to acquire third-party funds self-reliantly is expected.
