The Institute of Management at the University of Neuchâtel is opening a funded PhD position, 70%, in man­agement with a research focus on strategy and organizational theory starting August 1, 2019 or upon agreement.

Position details

  • Complete a PhD thesis in management under the supervision of Prof. Claudia Jonczyk Sédès
  • Collaborate with the team in research and other scholarly activities
  • Assist in administrative, teaching and research support for the supervisor (elaboration of course ma­terial, exam preparation, etc.)


  • Master’s degree in management or in a related social science discipline (psychology, sociology, po­litical science, statistics)
  • An interest in several of the following topics: Strategy, organizational theory/organization studies, networks and social capital
  • Demonstrated skills in empirical research methods (e.g. content analysis, grounded theory, survey research, case study analysis) and tools (e.g. NVIVO, SPSS, STATA, UCINET)
  • Passion for research
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment
  • Excellent command of English (oral and written)
  • Good command of French or willingness to learn French
