An Associate UAS Professor in Information Systems
responsible for algorithms and programming
We are looking for candidates with a strong expertise and applied research track record in different aspects of big data systems, including computational models and infrastructures for big data, such as Hadoop, Spark, Storm, cloud computing, on-line and streaming analytics, large scale recommendation systems, e.g. e-commerce and advertising systems. We will also consider exceptional candidates in similar research directions.
Activity rate: 100%
Responsible for the teaching in the domain of algorithms and programming in the Bsc and MSc level as well as for continuous education programs.
Supervision of Bsc and MSc theses.
Define and manage applied research projects; acquire funding from Swiss and international funding agencies and programs, such as SNSF, CTI, Horizon2020, as well as the private sector and industry.
Exploit the research results by publishing in peer-reviewed journals, conferences and press.
Administrative tasks related to teaching and research.
An MSc (or equivalent degree) in the domain of Information Technologies (IT); a PhD will be a plus.
Teaching experience in Bsc and MSc levels is desirable.
Professional experience of at least five years in the domain of IT with significant competence in algorithm optimisation and demonstrated experience in following and anticipating of programming techniques and methodologies.
Significant experience in managing applied research projects, consulting, and project funding acquisition.
Capacity to integrate in a dynamic and complex environment.
A team player.
Oral and written proficiency in both French and English (teaching is in French).
In the case that the selected candidate does not satisfy the conditions for the Associate UAS Professor level, then a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant UAS Professor will be proposed with a maximum term of six years.
